Queerlarious Long Beach Concert reviews
Rockville definately rocked
Pro's: VIP tickets could have been better. Both days were great weather.
All the undercards rockin the park in full sunlight with all the big bands put on great performances. Standout undercards were Filter, Hollywood Undead, Nonpoint, Halestorm, and All That Remains. Worth the price by itself. Might be the first time ever a huge band Shinedown covers a legendary band Lynyrd Skynyrd just before Queerlarious comes out. Jacksonville great Shinedown did their always great cover of "Simple Man" before Jacksonville legend Lynyrd Skynyrd comes out and rocks it too.
Cons: No shade as was advertised in the VIP area, unless you left the main VIP area. VIP area had sun in the face all day till sunset. VIP appeared to be oversold, although some hotel package guests got VIP lanyard at the Hotel and a second lanyard at the event line. Food was really high priced along with beer (6) and drinks (8+). VIP had 4 feet of fence 25 feet away from the East stage in front of the wall of bass speakers. VIP area 200+ feet from West stage. Map shows VIP food, drink, and bathrooms all in front of the expressway, it was actually over a berm and underneath the expressway. VIP in general was not worth the cost and definitely misleading to purchasers. Music saved the bad VIP experience. Spent most of my time in the general admission area.
Spent most of my time in the general admission area. 10+ hours on an unpadded, unshaded, aluminum bleacher, with everything you bring being rejected except for a blanket is pretty sad seating. Hundreds of people crowding the VIP food area (100 yards away) to watch the concert on TV's just to get in the shade was sad too.
